Privacy Notice (KVKK) and Cookie Information

1. Data controller
Under Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK"), the data controller, solely for this website (www.gurkanozkoc.com.tr) and messages sent to me through its contact channels, is Prof. Dr. Gürkan Özkoç as a natural person.

Examination and medical records kept at Ortogrup Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniği are covered by the clinic's own KVKK notice; this notice covers only the website and direct messages.
This is an informational website with no forms, accounts, newsletter or online booking.
2. What we process, how and why
When you visit: Technical logs (IP address, browser details, time of visit, page viewed) may be generated automatically on the hosting infrastructure to keep the site secure and working. Legal basis: KVKK Art. 5(2)(f) legitimate interest and, where applicable, Art. 5(2)(ç) legal obligation. These logs are kept for the hosting provider's standard retention period.
When you contact us (email, phone, WhatsApp): Your name, contact details and message are used only to reply and arrange your appointment request. Appointment requests made by phone or WhatsApp may be forwarded to Ortogrup Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniği for scheduling. Legal basis: KVKK Art. 5(2)(c) and 5(2)(f). Messages are kept as long as needed to respond and for no more than 2 years unless a legal obligation requires longer.
Health data: Health data is special-category data under KVKK Art. 6. Please do not send test results, scans, reports or detailed health information by email or WhatsApp; these channels are for appointments and general contact only.
3. Transfers
We never sell your data or share it for marketing. It may be shared only with: the website hosting provider (Hostinger infrastructure via Üç Yirmi İki) and email provider (Hostinger); WhatsApp (Meta) if you message us there; Ortogrup Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniği for scheduling; and competent public authorities where legally required. Servers of these hosting, email and WhatsApp providers may be located abroad, so your data may be transferred abroad when these services are used. Such transfers are carried out in line with KVKK Art. 9.
4. Cookies
Public pages do not set cookies; there are no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
- Only the admin panel (/yonet) uses two strictly necessary first-party cookies for the logged-in administrator: XSRF-TOKEN (security, 2 hours) and a session cookie (2 hours). Visitors do not receive them.
- YouTube videos load only after you press play, in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com); YouTube (Google) may then process data under its own policy.
- Links to Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Substack and Google Maps are governed by those platforms' policies.
5. Your rights (KVKK Art. 11)
You may learn whether your data is processed and request information; learn the purpose and whether it is used accordingly; know third parties it is transferred to in Turkey or abroad; request correction, or deletion/destruction under Art. 7, and notification of these to recipients; object to adverse results arising solely from automated analysis; and claim compensation for damage from unlawful processing.
