Prof. Dr. Gürkan Özkoç was born in Samsun in 1967. He completed his secondary education at Samsun Anadolu High School and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. He then completed his specialist training in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the same university.

Between 1998 and 2000, he worked as an orthopaedic specialist at Özel Çankaya Hospital. In 2000, he joined Başkent University Faculty of Medicine’s Adana Dr. Turgut Noyan Teaching and Research Centre, where he worked as an associate professor and subsequently as a professor.

In March 2020, he began providing patient care under OrtoGrup together with four orthopaedic professors with whom he had worked for many years.

His professional interests include knee and hip arthroplasty, trauma surgery, orthopaedic oncology and paediatric orthopaedics.

He is married and has two children. His interests include cycling and long-distance running.
